Who's Behind the Snazzy Masks? It's Us!

If you haven’t already, we highly suggest reading our other updates about COVID-19/coronavirus, too!

Emma and Chris in protective masks

Hi families,

We’re hoping you are all hale and hearty and finding ways to be creative with all that toilet paper in your closets. Just kidding, though we now pleased to have a good stash at the birth center.

Please if you aren’t doing so yet, stay home, use social/physical distancing when one of you needs to go out, and scrub-a-dub-dub your hands—often. Included below are guidelines for how to use those 30 seconds while washing your hands.

Here’s another change to how we will be looking when you see us in person…

Due to the recent recommendation that we all think of ourselves as asymptomatic carriers, we will be donning very snazzy masks and gloves for our in-person appointments, labor and delivery, and postpartum visits. Just wanted you know ahead of time so you don’t wonder “who’s  behind the mask?” when we next see each other.

Who’s behind the screen? IT’s US!

For clients with upcoming appointments who are in their first or second trimester, visits will be over Zoom (a video conferencing service that is HIPPA compliant in keeping your medical information confidential). Should Zoom not work, we will figure out another way to get connected.

Get your blood pressure cuffs

Also, a reminder about blood pressure cuffs for our clients: if you are unable to pick up an automatic blood pressure cuff, text Emma or Chris and they will send one to you. We have six available to lend out and they won’t do us any good collecting dust at the office.

Okay, that is all for today! Rest well.

What’s more calming than a candle-lit bar of soap? (Now, go wash your hands!)
